There goes the Bride

scattered flowers

He stood at the altar, eyes wide

Holding back tears, on lack of a bride

Her father announced the revelation

To the curious, shocked congregation

My daughter informed me at break of day

She fancied the groomsman and ran off to L.A.

I love the pace of this! I feel bad for the groom but as everyone said I guess he was probably better off.

Haha that was funny! Amazing how rhythm and rhyme can make something funny when it could otherwise have been sad. Very clever.

The groom got off easy, I think. Lucky guy. I like the rhyme, which adds a lighter touch.
