Well it wasn’t Hawaii, but it was gorgeous.

We’ve just returned from a lovely holiday in Snowdonia, despite the teen complaining we’re always in Wales and why can’t we go to Hawaii or Brazil?

We stayed just past Caernarfon which is about 1 1/2 hours travel in good traffic and the location of our Lodge was beautiful

After we unloaded the car of bikes, 45 pairs of shoes, junk food for the teens, and the kitchen sink, we settled into our surroundings.

Taking our friend’s son with us as company for our teen was an act of genius. They are great friends and spend most of their time laughing, which makes life quite pleasant for us.

We then sat on the deck admiring the view, listening to the birds and  watching the wildlife  FOR 5 MINUTES, then the boys got fed up and set off on their bikes to explore the grounds of the Country Park.

Both boys are sporty and spent their time riding bikes, playing football, and splashing about in the outdoor heated swimming pool as we expected, but amazingly they also got hooked on a 500 piece jigsaw we took with us.

They wanted to liven things up a bit in the week so we went to Crazy Climb. It was a fantastic place  and  the climbs were quite high and tricky, but sitting on the sidelines with a cappuccino wasn’t scary at all.

Next was Go Karting, this was a boys only event & apparently they were very competitive. No pics, but lap times were brought back and  discussed at great length, boys!

We went out and about everyday, and the glorious weather made our  trips to the harbour in Caernarfon a joy.

Having two 14 year olds doing their own thing some of the time gave us ‘boring parents’  an opportunity to have walks around the lake, and to sit on the deck relaxing.

So after our week away, and we all said we would go there again, the only downside was I had no wifi or twitter,

and on the upside, I HAD NO WIFI OR TWITTER.

What's Happened? What's Happening?

Caernarfon is a beautiful part of the world. I definitely think it was an inspired idea to take company for the teen! Sounds like a fab holiday, a break from social media is always good. Thanks for linking up to #WHWH

I love that area of wales and what a great idea taking a friend and getting some time to yourself! My two are only 2 and 4 but I look forward to those days 🙂

The lodges look fab. I’ve never been to Wales properly. I’ve got the ferry from Holyhead once but that’s it. I always kinda rule it out as a short trip destination, but I have no idea why.

I love Caernarfon, even though I did get a speeding ticket last time I was there! Sounds like you had a lovely break 🙂
