Make time for tea & the eve appeal

This weekend I have been to a local event supporting The Eve Appeal. These events are more than supporting a good cause, it’s also a chance to meet people and have some fun.

On Saturday morning I went over to Urban Cafe to take part in a fundraiser for The Eve Appeal who help raise awareness and fund research into Gynaecological cancers.

March is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

Every year in the UK over 7,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer and around 4,200 will die – ovarian cancer accounts for more UK deaths than all the other gynaecological cancers put together.

The event was part of the Make Time for Tea in Ovarian Cancer awareness month. One of the highlights at the event was a local community Ukulele band which had everyone joining in their sing-a-long.

It was a fun social event which raised over £300 pounds.

Why don’t you Make time for Tea and support The Eve Appeal

What a wonderful event to attend Lorraine. I love our local Ukulele band and how wonderful to raise £300 for this wonderful cause x

This is a great cause! I’m sure there is an equivalent here where I am. We are hosting a Breast Cancer Morning Tea fundraiser though. I think it is so important to support such organisations. It does help raise awareness. Thanks for sharing with #abitofeverything

What a fantastic idea! A friend of mine passed away last year from ovarian cancer. When she was diagnosed she was given 6 months but she proved everyone wrong and managed to fight for an extra 5 years. She used what she called her ‘borrowed time’ to raise money and awareness of this awful disease! Thank you for sharing! #abitofeverything

Some people find such bravery when they’re coping with cancer, your friend was one of them. Thanks for commenting Kerry-Ann, I wonder how many of us have experience of this disease.
