Cake, Coffee and Community = Urban Cafe

When my teen was young he loved the park playground, I would sit for hours watching him run around and make friends while I dreamt of going home for cake and a  cuppa.

How things have changed, now Mums don’t have to choose, cafes are opening in park locations and I went to one that’s really community focussed.

Urban Cafe is a fab space, a hub for cyclists, walkers, parents & kids, it’s a real community space serving good healthy food and believe me, a lovely cuppa.

The cafe  has views over the playground at the front and across the park at the back.

The modern interior also has a large room which hosts everything from a Men’s sewing group to Pop Pilates. As well as being a community meeting place this space can be hired for private functions.

They even have a cool Barber shop

Urban Cafe at Phoenix Park is about getting people together, Parkrun, cycling groups, craft days, and always dog walker friendly with an outside coffee cart for the coming months.

There’s lots going on, and if  like me you just want to meet up with friends for a coffee or lunch then that’s ok too,  you’ll be made very welcome.

Follow them on Facebook and keep updated.

And if you want to venture further afield Mike has just opened another Urban Café in Stockton Heath. Take the boat along to the newly refurbished London Bridge pub and stroll down to the Urban Cafe mark2.

One of the original uses of the cafe, as a place for information exchange and communication, was reintroduced in the 1990s with the Internet café
