When we moved into our newly built house 20 years ago it had up to date fixtures and fittings. We never thought about the day we would walk into the bathroom and wonder why on earth did we choose a petal shaped edging on the sink and loo.
But that day came and we decided to make some renovations and renew the loo,
This was the downstairs cloakroom after we took up the tiled floor my husband had painstakingly laid, and was about to do all over again.
We wanted to do this room with minimum expense so I went on a mission to find bargains
The tiles were end of line £10 per box, there were 3 boxes, 3 square meters surely that would fit.
Finding the sink was trickier, we didn’t want a cloakroom sink, but the narrow room couldn’t take anything too deep as it would obstruct the door. We found this super square sink with curved front a perfect fit, the suite cost £150 from Better Bathrooms.
Finally the finished room, and all under £300 pounds.
Just what we wanted, shopping around and being able to do it ourselves certainly saved us money.
