Our Ralf – In the Dog House, dog training

Our rescue puppy Ralf is such a lovely dog, he’s fun and friendly and mostly very calm. When we have visitors they always comment on how laid back he is for a young dog, but…

He’s not an angel all the time! In fact we’ve just won a prize in a fun Instagram competition organised by The Dog House, a photo of your dog caught red pawed and in trouble.

This photo won him some lovely dog treats..

…. and something I hadn’t seen before, a dog training App.

This is going to be so useful as Ralf hasn’t been to a training school. Training your dog is important for both of you, it opens communication between you and your dog. A trained dog requires fewer restrictions resulting in happier dog and owner.

The App has recall training on it and that’s what I will be focusing on. It’s so easy to use as my phone is always close by so I can brush up on techniques anytime.

When we take Ralf out on a family walk, or if my husband takes him out, he’s off the lead sniffing and running about beside us. He never wanders too far and likes to see us at all times.

Despite this I don’t feel confident letting him off the lead, when I’m out with him alone I worry that he won’t come when I call. I’m hoping recall training will give me confidence that Ralf will come back if I call him, which enables us to have a more enjoyable walk and Ralf to have more fun.

Thank you The Dog House for our prizes, we love them.
